We are looking for a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to drive improvements in productivity, quality (internal and external), safety and standardization. This position will lead cross functional process improvement teams and projects in order to meet timelines and project goals, provide technical expertise to internal and external customers and own process definition in the plant and drive initiatives to improve process control. The Manufacturing Engineer will also engage with operations to identify opportunities to improve and collaborate with maintenance to provide a safe and efficient production environment. This role will be located in Middlefield, Ohio.
What this role will be responsible for:
- Support process ownership initiatives on the engineering team and within the production operation
- Lead process improvement initiatives that improve productivity, quality, and standardization
- Integration and documentation of engineered solutions supporting a WCM environment
- Develop solutions to support ongoing manufacturing and equipment safety initiatives
- Lead cross functional process improvement teams and projects in order to meet timelines and project goals
- Provide technical expertise to internal and external customers
- Initiate corrective action to address production deficiencies that impact the ability to meet customer needs
- Collaborate cross functionally with technical and production team to ensure that the production process aligns with the specified production outputs
- Providing and maintaining a safe working environment and encouraging safe work practices
- Lead the implementation and definition of best practices, standard work, and process controls
- Collaborate with Maintenance to provide a safe and efficient production environment
Experience & Education Desired:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in engineering
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or related discipline
- Experience in rubber/plastic manufacturing would be preferred
- Proven development and implementation of process control procedures
- Demonstrated ability to develop solutions to manufacturing problems
- Demonstrated strong computer skills including 2D/3D CAD, AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks as well as Microsoft Office
- Experience with lean manufacturing or six sigma preferred
