Asst. Chief Financial Officer

Job Summary:

The Assistant Chief Financial Officer (ACFO) is a pivotal role designed to develop future leaders for the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) position. This role oversees the Financial Accounting and Reporting Department to ensure high-quality and efficient service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Healthcare Finance Expertise: Apply knowledge of healthcare finance to influence both clinical and financial outcomes.
• Capital Asset Management: Implement HCA Healthcare’s process for managing capital assets.
• Operational Knowledge: Understand Health Information Management (HIM) and Case Management/Care Coordination functions.
• Productivity and Staffing: Develop expertise in managing productivity, staffing, and scheduling.
• Accounting and Compliance: Demonstrate proficiency in hospital accounting, internal controls, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Leadership Presence: Exhibit executive presence, including appropriate temperament and skills in various situations.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required; Master’s degree is preferred.
• At least three years of experience in finance/accounting or public accounting/audit is necessary; experience as a hospital Controller and previous supervisory experience are preferred.
