Job Summary:
The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee the implementation and management of the plant’s maintenance program. Responsibilities include identifying parts and critical spares, ensuring all equipment is maintained in safe working order, and managing the maintenance team. This role involves scheduling, task assignments, training, hiring, performance evaluations, and collaborating with department managers to ensure equipment reliability and up-to-date preventive maintenance (PM) to meet production goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule maintenance staff to meet production demands and manage vacation requests in line with plant policies.
- Serve as the communication link between shifts to align team efforts towards common objectives.
- Supervise and coach employees to achieve equipment uptime and PM targets.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company programs.
- Maintain high standards of 6S and housekeeping within the department.
- Possess a thorough understanding of production processes and materials.
- Address and resolve technical and personnel issues with employees.
- Troubleshoot production problems and implement cost-effective solutions.
- Maintain a minimum inventory of critical spare parts for plant equipment.
- Manage repair costs and adhere to maintenance budgeting.
- Conduct performance reviews, handle disciplinary actions, and provide coaching and counseling for direct reports.
- Ensure proper handling of hazardous waste in accordance with company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities while adapting to changing situations.
- Meet deadlines and be accountable for PM and equipment uptime.
- Flexibility to work off-shifts, holidays, and weekends as needed to support production.
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency and the ability to work independently.
- Maintain a positive work environment with a customer-focused approach to support operations and safety.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Preferred 5+ years of experience in a maintenance or plant engineering role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, computer-driven, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience in leading teams and achieving results through others, with strong communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
