**Position Summary/Essential Duties:**
The Occupational Therapist organizes and conducts therapy programs to aid the rehabilitation of individuals with physical and/or psychosocial disabilities. Directs patient participation in therapeutic activities to restore, strengthen, and correct pathology, promoting and maintaining overall health.
**Essential Duties:**
– Conducts evaluations and develops tailored treatment plans to address patient rehabilitation needs across the care continuum.
– Implements effective treatment techniques proficiently.
– Educates patients, families, and caregivers on relevant health information, treatment, and preventive measures.
– Participates in discharge planning processes.
– Performs departmental activities including documentation, billing, and operational support.
**Required For All Jobs:**
– Performs additional assigned duties as necessary.
– Adheres to all policies and standards.
– Refers to department orientation documentation for specific duties and responsibilities.
– Safely maintains Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with UH policies and procedures, including annual training and adherence to the UH Code of Conduct.
**Qualifications:**
**Education/Expertise:**
– Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
**Required Credentials, License and/or Certifications:**
– Licensed by the State of Ohio to practice Occupational Therapy.
**Experience & Knowledge:**
– Possesses evaluation and treatment skills suitable for delivering Occupational Therapy appropriate to the developmental and chronological ages of patients within the caseload.
**Special Skills & Equipment Knowledge:**
– Demonstrates professional initiative, objectivity, effective time management, and interpersonal skills.
– Physically, cognitively, and perceptually capable of providing patient treatment and assisting with patient mobility and equipment.
